Team Collab: An Introduction
The purpose of this final report is to provide an overview of what “Collab” is, state our vision for change, address key components of our Business Model Canvas, and provide a space for reflection and review of the ideation and innovation process.
Overview
Team Collab, consisting of Meiri Anto ‘17, Seimi Park ‘20, and Michelle Ma ‘20, first came together at Swarthmore and Haverford’s inaugural Design Thinking Course in the Fall of 2016, where they first conceived of this project, then known as “SheWorks”. The Design Thinking Course taught Team Collab the value of designing user-centric products and being attuned to what the problem is, rather than the solution.
With the Design Thinking Course under their belt, Team Collab decided to tackle the age-old problem of gender equality with a fresh perspective -- by reimagining the modern day coworking space to include onsite childcare and new parent amenities.
After many, many nights of ideating and innovating, an externship at WeWork LA, and the USASBE College Pitch Philly conference in January, Collab has evolved into a social impact advisory firm with the primary goal of integrating the “Collab Model” into existing corporations and companies. Collab believes that the key to cracking the age-old problem of gender equality is showing companies that when they collaborate with their new parents by investing in them, beautiful things happen.
