Speak Up's "Urban Schools Outreach" program is centered around bringing public speaking workshops to urban schools on a monthly basis. Activities at workshops can range from having discussion circles to hosting mock "career interviews", as long as all activities have a focus on honing public speaking skills. Speak Up's "Urban Schools Outreach" program originated at Stanton Elementary in Washington, D.C. where volunteers worked closely with Stanton's "LIGHTS" program.
